How I got here

This is my first entry into the world of blogging and I’m stepping into it with novice shoes on. It’s been a while since I’ve written anything. Approximately 605 days to be exact -back when I was running the rat race, working 70 hours a week in Kuala Lumpur as an editor of an in-house eMagazine and internal communications manager.

Since then I’ve moved to London, settled into being a Mrs and pondered about what my next steps in life should be. Go back into the corporate world? I sent my CV out to many companies, only to be told I needed work experience in the UK as a requirement.

“So hire me”, I would say.

It was a very chicken and egg thing.

After redo-ing my CV and writing countless cover letters I asked myself “was this what I really wanted? To get a job writing out what other people wanted to say.

I started to cheer myself up the only way I knew how- by letting my fingers do the shopping online.

As I became best friends with the delivery dudes and my beauty products continued to increase, a lightbulb went off in my head. Now was the time to start my blog .

And in the words of Julie Andrews, start blogging about “a few of my favourite things”. So here we are. With my first entry. ย I’m still new to this, so my design (or lack there-off) still needs loads of work. But I figured, I should just start now. After all, there’s no time like the present.
