Liquid lips, lip toppers and now lip strobes. As long as the word “lip” is in it, I’m there.
With the current trend of shimmery lips, it’s no wonder Huda Kattan, social media and blogger phenomenon jumped on the glitter wagon to launched her Huda Beauty Lip Strobes, to accompany her already best-selling liquid matte lipsticks and lip contours.
In a range of 12 metallic shades, each of these glosses claim to be packed with iridescent shimmer, glistening glitter and duo chrome pigments, giving us the option of wearing them on their own, as lip toppers or even on our eyelids.
So just HOW pigmented are we talking here?
Most lip toppers promising the same, have left me with pale, sickly looking (but shimmery) lips, so when these lip strobes launched, I wasn’t too sure if I wanted to get one.
Biting the beauty bullet, I ordered the colour “Shameless” and it was love at first swipe.
Shameless really packs a punch. Because of the duo chrome pigments, the colour shifts from a sheer, metallic rosy pink to a glistening rose gold.
AND it can definitely be worn on its own!
Below are swatches of Shameless and Jouer’s Rose Gold lip topper for comparison. Check out the pigments on Shameless!
One of the things I love about this lip strobe is that even with the crazy amount of glitter and shimmer involved, it DID NOT feel gritty at all. My lips also felt very moisturised throughout the day.
I tried it on top of Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Trendsetter and it gave a really pretty dimension to the colour. It’s a great way to glam up a liquid lipstick after work or if lips need added moisture midday.
Trust Huda to up the lip game ante! I now have my eye on Saucey and Boujee!
Huda Beauty Lip Strobe is priced at £17 and can be purchased here.
