I decided to try out Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips, a new range of 10 matte liquid lipsticks, in the colour Too Bad I’m Bad, a warm, rosey-pink shade.
Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips promises:
- Sea lavender anti-ageing properties that combine hyaluronic acid with collagen boosting actives to slow down any signs of ageing in a natural formula.
- Beeswax to help protect lips against moisture loss
- Cyclopentasiloxane (a silicone) for long-lasting colour and a baby-soft finish.
Cyclopentasiloxane has a unique fluidity that makes it easily spreadable with a silky and slippery feeling to the touch. It’s no wonder than that Hollywood Lips glides on smoothly like a cream. It doesn’t feel “liquidy”, but more like a “whipped” lipstick.
Because of its creamy consistency I could take my time defining and filling in my lips. The first time I applied it, the formula felt moisturising and very flexible. I almost forgot I was wearing it.
It doesn’t dry down completely, so there is a bit of transfer and fading. You could touch up without the remaining colour on your lips clumping up. Personally, I prefer reapplying my lipstick after a meal.
The applicator wand reminds me of a calligraphy pen. It has a deep crescent curve on the inner side, which hugs my lips, while the thinner part makes it easy to line and contour my lips. You don’t need a lipliner for this.
The best part about the packaging is the transparent casing on one side. It showcases the colour – which is great if you’ve more than one Hollywood Lips shade to choose from in your make up bag.
Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips are £24 and can be purchased here. I do like purchasing from her site, as there are lots of lovely samples to choose from, so you can try stuff out and see if it works for you before you splurge!
